Monsters In The Woods

A one-day intensive workshop in writing the stories that scare you

The Dark of the Woods

At a spooky, undisclosed location in the Angeles National Forest*
Saturday, October 25
10am-2pm
$50

This workshop is now full, but a second workshop has been added: Saturday, November 8, in Griffith Park!

Why are we afraid of the dark? How do writers terrify us with nothing but their words? And how can we do the same in our own stories?

Through a series of unnerving exercises, we will plumb classic fairy tales, ghost story tropes, and our own experiences to generate material for new and in-progress stories.

The "Monsters in the Woods" workshop isn't just for horror writers. It's for writers who want to explore their own fears, dreams, and memories for new story material.

For more information or to reserve a spot, please email Christopher DeWan.

* OK, not that spooky. It will be a picnic area near a restroom, a short walk from a snack bar. But still: National Forest! Actual location will be disclosed when you confirm your RSVP.
