Christopher DeWan is author of HOOPTY TIME MACHINES: fairy tales for grown ups, a collection of domestic fabulism from Atticus Books. He has published more than fifty stories in journals including Bodega, Gravel, Hobart, Passages North, and wigleaf. His work is featured in The Best Small Fictions 2017, edited by Amy Hempel and published by Braddock Avenue Books, and he has been nominated twice for the Pushcart Prize.

He has had TV projects with the Chernin Group and Electric Entertainment, and he has collaborated on properties for Bad Robot, Paramount, Universal, and the Walt Disney Company. His screenwriting has been recognized by CineStory, the International Screenwriters' Association, Final Draft, the PAGE Awards, and Sundance. In 2017, he was named as one of the ISA's "Top 25 screenwriters," and in 2018, he was recipient of a screenwriting fellowship from Middlebury College. He is repped by Ensemble Entertainment.

Christopher holds an MFA in creative writing from the California Institute of the Arts and a degree in philosophy and theater from Cornell University. He has been a consultant for the literary magazine Electric Literature, a contributor at the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference, a visiting artist at the Music Center of Los Angeles, and a member of the faculty at the Idyllwild Arts Academy and the University of California Riverside.
